KANJUKUOH:
Kanjukuoh is derived from the Japanese words meaning ‘sweet’, ‘ripe’ and ‘king’. We do not take the brand name lightly: Kanjukuoh bananas are the sweetest of all bananas! Because of its superior taste they can rightly be called the “King of Bananas”. This is why the character of Sumifru’s mustached mascot, the Banana King (or Banana no Ousama), is actually based on our Kanjukuoh brand. Our charismatic King can be seen singing and dancing in ads that appear all over Japan.
Kanjukuoh bananas are grown and cultivated in the cool and fresh air of the Philippine highlands. The high altitude and rich soil combined with our expert agricultural techniques produces bananas with superior taste and sweetness, creamy texture and high starch content.
This premium banana is of the finest quality and the ultimate result of Sumifru’s years of knowledge and experience in banana farming.
Good To know:
Aside from being the sweetest banana of all, Kanjukuoh bananas are extra healthy too! We grow our bananas in soils with high organic matter content, which hold more nutrients compared to lowland soils. It is a good source of nutrients especially potassium and starch.
BANAGE:
Banage is a combination of the words “banana” and “age”. With this brand we have created a “New Generation” of bananas.
Sumifru has applied its experience from growing highland bananas to practice better cultivation techniques to produce a brand of bananas that challenge existing standards.
We grow our Banage bananas on nutrient-rich Philippine soil in the midlands,
where great care is adopted throughout the entire growing process. As Banage bananas also mature longer, the final result is a banana with truly distinctive aroma, taste, and texture that will stand out against conventional bananas.
Good To know:
Sumifru’s other mascot is the Banage Ouji (Banage Prince). He can be seen on print ads, stickers, and other materials wearing a bell as a hat. The bell represents the Bell Mark Campaign in Japan. Students from participating schools collect and gather as much bell marks as they can to win a prize.
Sumifru also has a line of low-chemical midland bananas called Banage Eco.
GRACIO:
Gracio was derived from the Italian word “Grazie”, meaning thanks, to show our gratitude to the lands for our harvest. It is also an adaptation of the word
“grace” or “refined”as we continuously adhere to the strictest standards to bring you bananas that look as good as they taste.
The brand showcases our constant commitment to maintaining outstanding quality. Sumifru manages private and top of the line storage facilities to ensure our products are
of the freshest quality possible. Meticulous care and attention is put into every step of our manufacturing process: from research and development, to plant and fruit care, to
harvesting, packing and shipping.
Good To know:
The Gracio brand was introduced to the market during Sumifru’s 20th anniversary in the year 1990.
